Strategic Sales Manager (Full time)

Farmer professionalism is the key to enhancing sustainability, creating market linkages and improving farmers’ livelihoods at scale. Our approach starts with measuring and benchmarking how professional farmers manage their business in emerging economies. Understanding the actual challenges and risks can lead to more sustainable value chains, a considerable reduction of costs, a more reliable sourcing or an increase in quality. By offering integrated solutions, consisting of assessment tools, capacity-building curriculum, program and partnership management, and data analysis, we improve farmer professionalism, transparency and market linkages at scale. There is considerable potential to grow our current worldwide market share with existing customers as well as new customers. And therefore we are looking for you!

As a Strategic Sales Manager, you will be responsible to:

  • Achieve commercial goals and hit sales targets
  • Design and implement a strategic business plan, that expands SCOPEinsight’s and your existing network of food companies and brands and ensures it’s strong presence
  • Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs
  • Provide solutions to these companies that help them seize the benefits and value SCOPEinsight can provide;
  • Spread the word on the added value of the standard solution SCOPEinsight offers;
  • Present sales, revenue and expenses reports and realistic forecasts to the management team

In view of the above, as our ideal Strategic Sales Manager:

  • Is a go-getter, eager to deliver results by converting prospects into paying customers. A closer.
  • Has a sales aptitude, is assertive and competitive.
  • Understands the international trends in the agricultural trade markets;
  • Understands the challenges the market players face in, for example, the coffee, cocoa, and tea sector;
  • Is a self-starter. You are a versatile and entrepreneurial-minded professional; you take initiative, are analytical and have a ‘can do’ and hands-on mentality.
  • Takes initiative to explore the channels that deliver the biggest results.
  • Is extrovert, confident as well as a good listener.
  • Is bi- or multilingual, speaking fluent English, as well as French or Spanish.
  • Has a vast and relevant network of companies and brands that source or trade in emerging markets.
  • Has strong communication- and negotiation skills.
  • Makes a clear plan and reports regularly on the progress made (a,o, via our CRM system).
  • Has the art to predict if it is possible to achieve short-term results, while not losing the focus on the large longer-term leads.
  • Has experience in a similar function with tangible results.
