Launch of AMEA East Africa in Nairobi

On May 11, 2016 SCOPEinsight, ICCO and Fairtrade launched the Agribusiness Market Ecosystem Alliance (AMEA) East Africa in Nairobi, which follows the launch of AMEA Global in February this year.

AMEA is a multi-stakeholder platform that aims to create a continuously improving, quality controlled ecosystem, based on a common vision, definition, and standardized methodology for enabling farmer professionalism at scale. Using common metrics, AMEA will build accredited training curricula aligned with tools and create a learning agenda that will help farmers graduate to higher levels of professionalism and facilitate their access to markets, inputs, finance and services.

AMEA East Africa will leverage on existing projects in the region, including the Finance for Agriculture (F4A) project, a public private partnership backed by the Netherlands Embassy, build an ecosystem, grow the community and facilitate market linkages.

In August 2016, a multi-stakeholder conference will be held in Nairobi where AMEA (and its East Africa initiative) and its members will be presented and discussions around, a.o. building a core curriculum, information sharing and market linkages  will take place.

We hope many of you will join AMEA and the conference in August!
